Results for April 20th -April 26th

I haven't finished week 8 yet b/c I went shopping today which I never get to do and of course yesterday I didn't workout b/c it was Friday. I usually make up Fridays workout on Saturday morning along with the cardio workout for Saturday. So I will not have a rest day for tomorrow and will do workout 8 and cardio tomorrow. Not to worry its all good! This will be my last workout in Phase 2. Moving on to Phase 3 with Workout 9 on Monday. Super nervous about that workout b/c I have heard that it is brutal. I hope not as bad as workout 7 circuit one! I will let you know how it all goes!

 Results for Phases 1&2

Total Weight Loss: 4lbs (lost 2 lbs this week by going back to what works for me, Weight Watchers.)    I gained weight last week so I made up for it this week.

Total inches lost in waist, hips, and belly button: 13.5

Total inches lost in waist, hips, belly button, arms, legs, and bust: 15

I also had a couple of non-scale victories yesterday and today. I was able to get into a pair of blue jeans that I could not wear a year ago. They are button up and I couldn't even button the bottom button last year and now I can button all buttons except the top one but I wore them anyway. Haha. No one knew but me.  I also went shopping today and was able to get into a size smaller than usual. Not in all the clothes I tried on as they are all made differently but in some so I was a little excited about that.

I will report back soon. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Two days in one!!!!

Happy Wednesday Everyone! I was a bit of a Lazy Bum on Monday b/c I woke up with a headache and kept it all day even after taking medicine for it. So no workout that day. Then I went on a field trip with my son's class and my own class. We left super early in the morning like 5:45am and did not get home until almost 7 and after riding on a bus with loud kids I decided that Tuesdays workout was not going to happen either.  My diet was NOT good on the field trip either. So I went to bed last night feeling very disappointed in myself for not sucking it up and doing my workouts the past two days and for eating so awful. So I decided to come up with a plan to get back on track. I decided that even though I hate to workout before work I would have to do Workout 7 then and do Workout 8 when I got home from work today. Well, lo and behold that is exactly what I did. I pulled my fat self out of the bed and made myself workout. (Have to say I had a lot more energy and felt better once I got started.) It is the getting out of bed thing that I hate. Ha ha! And I started my workout as soon as I got home from work. Now I just need to do some cardio after my exercise tomorrow and I will be caught up for the week.

I did decide to go back to Weight Watchers Online and lets just say after my diet yesterday I must be a very good girl until Saturday's weigh in! I do have some activity points but I don't like to use those. Hope everyone has a great night! See ya back here again soon! Good luck and keep going no matter how bad you think you have messed up and no matter how disappointed in yourself you may be.

Oh my I almost forgot.....I had a Non Scale Victory today. Let me first say that my husband, kids, and all of you who read this are the only ones who know about my doing Body Revolution and today at work one of my coworkers just out of the blue says "ok Becky tell me exactly what you are doing to lose all of that weight." This seemed odd to me b/c I have only lost a few pounds so far. So I guess the inches I have lost are finally starting to show even though sometimes I find it hard to tell and get discouraged. I just wanted to hug this girl!

A new level!

As you may of guessed from my previous posts a miracle did not occur yesterday as far as my having enough energy or will power to do WO 8 last night after a long week of work. So I did WO 8 this morning along with one circuit of cardio 2 b/c between the cardio in WO 8 and my two days of couch 25k this week I decided that was enough cardio for me especially after you read the next paragraph.

I have also decided to up my workouts to a whole new level! I went to Wal-Mart last night to buy some 10 lb weights b/c up until this point the 5's have been about all I wanted to tackle. But I don't want to be a pansy so I needed to step it up a bit and well let's just say my arms are definitely feeling it! I may not be able to move my arms tomorrow. While at Wal-Mart I decided to purchase the 30 Day Shred DVD that everyone is raving about. So I did my first day of Level 1 today after WO 8 and before cardio 2.

I hope everyone is still pushing through to get the results you want. I know some days like my last couple of weeks are discouraging but that is when you have to dig deeper and think about what Jillian says...."when you have a WHY, you can tolerate any HOW!!!   Happy Saturday everyone!

Workout 7 and Couch 25k

Well, well, well it was time for the good old WO 7! It was better this time again I say this always after doing a workout more than once. At least I wasn't screaming "oh my goodness she is trying to kill me or WHAT? There is no way I can do that!" this time! Bahahaha! So I count that as a plus. I did not do cardio 2 yesterday, later day at work and zero, zip, nada motivation to do it. For some reason I just don't like cardio 2 as much as I did cardio one. Although it could be that I have only done cardio two once. I did however do Couch 25k week 2 day 2 today after WO 7 while my son was in Karate Class. So I guess I could say that I got my cardio for yesterday in today. Tomorrow I am set to do WO 8 but you know how my Fridays are so it may be done Saturday morning along with couch 25k week 2 day 3! I will post again tomorrow if a miracle occurs and I actually finish a work week with enough energy left to do WO 8! Lol. I do not freak out if I miss a workout as long as I get it in. So far I have not missed completing all of the workouts in a week even if I had to double up.  Have a great night everyone!

Workout 8 (first time)

First of all I would like to say that my thoughts and prayers go out to all of those affected by the bombing in Boston. My husband is actually trying to train for a marathon and recently mentioned trying to run the Boston Marathon some day in the future. I just can't imagine what these people are going through right now.

Workout 8 was challenging but in my opinion not as bad a WO 7. I actually liked this workout and felt like I could keep up except when using those cables or torture tubes as Jillian calls them. I have a hard time getting them wrapped around my feet quickly as this workout goes at a really fast pace. I didn't get to do Couch 25k today b/c to be honest I was just sore and tired from yesterday's and today's workouts. Not to worry though I just need to get in 3 days so I will get it done. I hope everyone is having a good week. Tomorrow is Cardio 2.

I will leave you with the following pic that I found on MFP and thought that it was very motivational especially to me b/c I have been a little discouraged the last week over the lack of movement on the scale.

Phase Two/ First time doing Workout 7 / Week 7

Let me just say OMGosh!!!! Now that was a workout!!!! Don't freak out if you haven't done this workout yet b/c if you are looking to get in shape it is good to be challenged. Well hats off to Jillian b/c this is a super challenging workout! That being said after I got through circuit one I found it manageable. Circuit one was really hard on my wrists, there were lots of push-ups and planks.  On a good note I really liked the star jumps! They took me back to my old cheerleading days.  I did Week Two Day One of Couch 25K yesterday and didn't mind running those 90 minutes so that was encouraging! I will attempt Week Two Day Two tomorrow! I intend o stay on the treadmill b/c my legs are not ready to run on concrete or the gravel road with large rocks by the river just yet.

Week Six Results

I am only down .2 of a pound. That is a loss of 3.8 pounds so far. Not really what I was hoping for but the inches keep coming off! I am now down 10.5 inches in my waist, belly button, and hips! I was getting ready this morning and my little girl said " Your stomach is getting little mommy." And yesterday my husband said that he can really tell that I am losing inches. So these two statements made me feel good!

I think I am set on the heart rate monitor that I am going to get but welcome any input or suggestions that you might have about one in particular. I will probably place an order on Wednesday!

Tomorrow is WO 8. If it is anything like today's workout I better get to bed and rest up! It is almost 8:00 est so my bed is calling my name! Have a great night everyone!

Time to catch up!

Hey everyone!

I haven't wrote anything on here  for a couple o days b/c as usual life has been hectic and to be honest there wasn't a lot to report.  I did WO 5 on Thursday for the last time this go round. (Who knows, I may decide to do this program again.)  For those who may me wondering what program I am talking about it is the Jillian Michaels' Body Revolution 90 day Challenge.  I liked this workout much better this time and felt good about the exercises this time.  I did not do WO 6  yesterday b/c my backside was dragging.  Maybe I just need to make Friday's my rest day! lol. So I did WO 6 today instead and I must say my favorite part of this workout is the statue of liberty exercise. Not sure why I like these but I really do.  My abs are not hurting anymore as a result of this WO which is a plus.  I had all intentions of doing Cardio Two today when we got home from taking my son to the movies to meet a friend and shopping with my daughter for spring/summer clothes, but we brought his friend home for a sleepover so I believe I will wait until tomorrow to do it or I may do another day of Couch 25K.  Not sure yet, just depends on how the day goes.
Here is a little motivation that I found on My Fitness Pal.

Speaking of motivation,  I am currently looking for a heart rate monitor that also tells the calories that I burn during a workout b/c I am going up and down in weight and I am getting discouraged.  Obviously I am doing something wrong.  Right now I am using an app that estimates how many calories I burn based on how much I weigh and my height.  Anyway, I really need to get a handle on this.  I think that I also may need to go back to Weight Watchers. I had a lot of success with this program five years ago and lost 25 pounds.  I know I am losing inches and have some NSV (Non scale victories), but I just need for that scale to move.  It is a psychological thing I know and most people are not bothered by this but I am. Anyway, I have been looking at the Fitbit, Body Fit,  various Polar watches, and the Garmin that my husband has (this one may be a bit too expensive for me right now). Any suggestions or success stories that you could share would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance!  Have a great Sunday everyone!

What a beautiful day for a walk!

Hey everyone. Today I had planned to do Cardio 2 but it was so beautiful outside that I just could not stay inside. So I decided to meet my hubby by the river which is close to where I work and do another day of Couch 25k while my husband ran his usual 6 miles. Started out great but this is a gravel road and the rocks really hurt my feet and caused my legs to hurt really bad. So I didn't finish the running but I didn't stop. I kept walking a brisk pace until my husband came back to get me.  I ended up walking 2.5 miles in the heat which was better than sitting on the couch! So even though I didn't run as I should have, I showed up and I didn't give up! The river was so pretty, I didn't even listen to my iPod, I just took in God's creation and listened to the flow of the river. So peaceful after a long day at work.  Back to WO 5 tomorrow! (Last time doing that one too!!!!) Have a great night everyone! Hope to see you back tomorrow! Remember don't give up just keep trying!!!

Not a normal day!

I had a meeting out of town today and let's just say that when I don't stay in my routine, I fall off the wagon in the food department so to speak. By 1:00 I had ate all of 1200 calories for the day!! Geez, these people feed you and you never know what they are going to have. These people must not be on a diet. Lol.
Anyway I rushed home and did WO 6. Not too bad this time even my abs are still not screaming like last week. Then I rushed my son to karate class and did day 3 of couch 25k while he was in class.  All of it again!  (his class is at the gym so its easy to get a workout in during that time.) Then I took my daughter to dance class and decided that I would like to eat supper tonight so I needed to do some more cardio so I went back over to the gym to pick up my son and did 15 more minutes on the stationary bike. These workouts allowed me to eat supper but I still went over by a few calories. Oh we'll you can't be good everyday. Back to my regular schedule tomorrow and less temptations.

See you all tomorrow! Hope everyone is still doing well.

Starting Week 6! Halfway there!

I started Week 6 today with WO 5!  It didn't seem as hard the second time which seems to keep being the case with each new workout.  Tomorrow will be WO 6 which I like much better than WO 5.

A New Hobby????

One of my friends from My Fitness Pal, Vicki, has inspired me to try Couch 2 5K.  Now let me just give you some background info first.  I absolutely HATE the thoughts of running at all!  Unless someone is chasing me with a sharp object or a large animal such as a bear is chasing me I just DO NOT do it!  That being said, spring has finally came back to the beautiful Appalachian Mountains and I decided to download the app on my phone on Saturday and try it.  I didn't get all the way through it b/c I got a runners stitch and ended up walking the rest of the way.  But today, I was sooo ready to try again so I did, but this time on the treadmill while my son was in Karate class.  I made it all the way through Day 2 today!  Yay me!!!  I am so proud of myself.  Now I don't know how dedicated to this program I will be but I am definitely going to try to do as much as I can.  Thanks again Vicki for keeping me motivated!  Thanks to all of you in cyber space who unknowingly keep me motivated through your posts on MFP and your blogs which I enjoy reading.

Week 5 results:

Weight -1pound (Now a loss of 3.6 pounds since March 4th, not great I know but at least it is trending in the right direction.  I really do wish I could figure out why I am not losing as much weight I should be, but I will keep going on as long as I can feel the difference.  The scale is not the be all end all!

                           April 1st                            April 8th                             Loss
Waist:                  33.25                                    33                                   -.25
Belly Button:       36.25                                    35.5                                -.75
Hips:                    39.25                                    38.75                              -.50
                                                                                                                 1.5 inches

That is a total of 10 inches since March 4th just in my mid-section!  I will take it!  I have started keeping track of my legs, arms, and bust, but not a significant difference this week.  I probably won't measure those again until the end of Phase 2.

Hope to see you all tomorrow!  WO 6 here I come!  Good luck tomorrow everyone!

What a week!!!

Well, well, well, I survived this week and I am still in one piece!  I am a teacher and as I have already said I was on Spring Break this week until Wedensday.  We went back to school/work on Thursday.  We have had such long and bad winter here in the Appalachian Mountains so we lost part of our spring break.
Anyway we ended up staying 1hr and 1/2 later on Thursday b/c we had another winter storm come in before we could let out of school which put me home late and then we had revival at our church.  So needless to say there was no workout for me on Thursday. I did Thursday's WO5 yesterday and WO 6 and Cardio 2 today!  I must say I DO NOT like those Burpees (not sure about spelling)  at ALL!!!!  Well at least all of the Workouts are completed for the week and now I can look forward to my day of rest tomorrow!  I can't wait!  My poor abs are still killing me from Friday's workout! I had two c-sections w/in four years to have my little ones and the site of my incision is hurting really bad. I guess it is just more sensitive or something.  Anyway I will work through it, hopefully the rest day will be just what I need. Not sure if I will change my weigh in day to Sunday or not but I will post results for Week 5 tomorrow or Monday!  Week 6 starts Monday!

Below are a few pictures of my little ones from the Easter Holiday!

This one is from when we went to the mall to see the Easter Bunny! They are so silly!

This one is from Easter Sunday after the Easter Bunny came to see us! They were dressed for Easter Sunrise Service at our church.

Thyroid and Cholesterol Update:

As I have said in previous blogs I had to go back for blood work this week for both my thyroid and cholesterol. My results were just as I suspected my TSH was extremely elevated and my meds had to be increased..  I knew there had to be a reason I was so tired and not losing any weight at all.  This may not help in the weight department but at least I will have more energy to do my workouts soon!  My cholesterol also as I suspected was still elevated which is something I need to get down as soon as possible so I do not have to go on medicine for that as well.  I do NOT like medicine and don't want to medicine for something that I can fix with time and hard work.  I want to live a long and happy life and that will not happen if I don't get those numbers down.  This just gave me more icentive to workout so my next appt. in three months will be much better!

Workout 6 (Check) Cardio Two......(No check)

I'm back sooner than I thought I would be.  It has already been a busy week and it shouldn't be since it is Spring Break for both me and my kiddos.  Revival all week, a dentist appointment yesterday for my little man, and a thyroid check up for me today.  (Hopefully we can get my thyroid back in check and I will start to lose weight again.) I didn't realize that I had no refills and couldn't get an appointment for a week and a half so I have been w/out my meds for two weeks yesterday!  Yikes!  Anyway I am still trucking along.

Workout 6 was intense just like workout 5, but not as bad I didn't think. Although one circuit is all about the abs and geez was that hard! I can still feel it in my abs today.  I am slightly more sore this week than I have been in past weeks which I am hoping is a good thing.  Idk...we will see on Monday morning. (My weigh in day.)  Although I may need to change my weigh in day to Sunday, since that is my rest day and I seem to eat slightly more on that day!  I know I shouldn't, but I do!

Cardio 2....well I wasn't able to do it today.  This is our last day of Spring Break and it is back to work/school tomorrow so I decided to have a lazy day!  But not to worry I will get it in tomorrow with Workout 5!  As long as I get it done that is all that matters to me.

I hope everyone is doing well and having a successful week!

Body Revolution Phase I review and results....

Hello All,

I have been reading several blogs and following some that have been very inspirational to me and has kept me pushing play even when I didn't want to at all.  So I have decided to start my own blog to update daily/weekly my thoughts on these workouts and my progress as I go along to hopefully motivate others as well.  Please feel free to follow me here and on My Fitness Pal.  (5bsanders on MFP)

Phase One Review and Results:
Phase One started out with WO's 1 & 2 being pretty laid back with more focus on the core and balance.  Then WO's 3&4 were definitely more difficult but nothing a newbie like me couldn't handle. So far this program is doing a great job at progressively getting me ready for what I hear will be some extreme workouts to come in the next few weeks. I am down only 2.6 pounds, but I have lost 8.5 inches in my waist, belly button, and hips!  So basically not a huge weight loss or even what I had hoped for, but I will take the loss in inches.  I can tell a difference in the mirror and in how some of my clothes fit.  My detailed results are below. Today I took my arm and leg measurements as well to see how much they will change over the next month.

March 4th                     April 1st                     Total Lost
Waist:               35.75                           33.25                          -2.50
Belly Button:   39.00                            36.25                          -2.75
Hips:                42.50                            39.25                          -3.25
                                                                                                  8.50 inches

Phase Two Begins Today!
Well, I started Phase Two today, Workout 5!  Wow it was definitely a step up but I liked it.  I feel like that is what I need to see the results that I want to see.  However right after the workout my arms were so tired and burning.  Alot of arm work in this one! I have read in several blogs that Phase Two is where you start to see more weight loss.  I sure hope so!  Workout 6 tomorrow!
