 A Brief Synopsis of My Life and Purpose of this Blog

      I am a mom of two a boy and a girl. They keep me on my toes at all times and running here there and everywhere! I have an amazing husband who supports me in all areas of life. I plan to write about my daily/weekly quest to change my life for the better in all areas including personality, attitude, spiritual health, physical health and fitness. My major goals are to be more positive, grow closer to God and to lose weight! The real me is trapped inside waiting to come out. I also need to do this for my health and stress levels so that I will be around to see my children grow up and have kids of their own someday. I am looking to provide motivation and support for others who may be wanting to take this journey or a similar journey as well.

My Life and Weightloss Journey in Detail.....

        I met my husband in 1998 when I was 16. I weighed 115 pounds. We have been together ever since. I finished high school and went on to college to become a teacher.  In August of 2002, the summer before my last year of college we got married.  Little did we know that 1 year and 15 days later when would become the proud parents of a beautiful baby boy. At this time I weighed 155 pounds and stayed at that weight for several years.  I finished college and began my career in 2004.  In 2006 I started Weight Watchers and participated in several classes at the gym for about six months and lost around 25 pounds.  In 2007 we decided that our little family was missing something so we decided to start trying to have another baby.  I gave birth to our baby girl by the end of that year. Five weeks after I had her I was diagnosed with Acute Liver Failure due to an allergic reaction to the blood pressure medicine that they put me on at the end of my pregnancy for high blood pressure. The doctor left me on it after delivery b/c my blood pressure just wasn't coming down quick enough.  I almost died!  I went from being 162 pounds on the day I had my daughter to 124 pounds.  I was so weak I didn't want to eat at all.  Thank the good Lord, I was healed and slowly but surely began to eat again and boy did I eat!
      
       By June of 2008, I was back up to 144 pounds.  In August of 2008, I went back to college to get my Masters Degree in Education.  This put a lot of stress on me as a wife, mom, teacher, and now student AGAIN!  So I did what I always do when I am stressed out.....I ate, ate, ate.  By the time I graduated with my Masters Degree I was 155 pounds again.  In the Fall of 2011, my thyroid decided to go crazy.  I have had Hypothyroidism since I was 22 and have maintained the same dosage of medicine the whole time until then.  It took almost 8 months to get it regulated again and in the process my weight went all the way up to 166 pounds in just a few weeks.  (That is what told me that I had a problem with my thyroid again.)  Anyway, after we got it regulated again, I decided to try Insanity in the summer (2012) and I did pretty good, but kept some of my poor eating habbits.  I did lose 12 pounds though which put me at 154 pounds.  However by Thanksgiving of  2012, I was back up to around 165 pounds.  I decided on New Years Day 2013 that I was going to start watching what I ate and lose some of this weight.  I did okay and lost a little, but I needed to do more.  So toward the end of February 2013 I decided to purchase Jillian Michaels Total Body Revolution.  I started this program on March 4th and I am still doing it.  This program has not helped me lose a lot of weight but I have lost quite a few inches.  I am talking inches that I have not seen move even while on numerous diets since 2010!  So I will definitely take that! I am set to finish on June 1st.  I did get down to 149.1 pounds by the end of the program and you can see my detailed progress under the "My Progress" Tab my home page.
        After completing this program I pretty much stopped working out over my summer break. By the time I went back to work in August I was back up to somewhere around 154 pounds.  Right now as of January 18, 2014 I am back up to 161.8 this morning!!!! I haven't gained back as many inches as I would have thought I would have with this many months of no working out and not really watching my diet.  Last Monday, January 13, 2014, some co-workers and I have been working out after school.  We are trying to complete Shaun T's Focus T25 Workout Program which lasts for 10 weeks.  So I am happy to report that I was able to complete Week 1 and I am still alive!  haha.  Now, I just have to getting my diet under control again.  I will update more as events occur.

  1. You can do anything that you set your mind baby. You are the most strong willed person I know as long as it is something that is important to you and I know that this is. Just keep in mind that this is going to be as hard as anything that you have ever done but I will be here for you each step of the way. You know they say that anything worth having is worth fighting for and there is nothing more important than health. Please lean on me when you need to!

  2. Thanks honey! I am going to do my best that is for sure! I am just so tired of taking one step forward and two steps back. So I am very motivated to make this my year to be a much thinner me! :)
